| Getting Licensed and Career Information |
If you are not yet licensed, Here is the process...
HAVE YOU TAKEN YOUR STATE LICENSING EXAM YET?
To become licensed as a Real Estate agent in the state of Kansas, the Kansas Real Estate Commission requires the following:
18 or more years of age.
High school diploma or its equivalent.
30-hour Principles of Real Estate course approved by the commission.
Pass both parts (general and state) of a licensing examination within 12 months of the course completion date.
File an application for license within four months of the examination pass date (if the two parts of the examination were passed on different dates, the four-month time period begins from the earlier examination date).
Application signed by a supervising or branch broker who certifies that the applicant is honest, trustworthy and of good reputation and who will be responsible for supervising the applicant's real estate activities (an original license cannot be issued on inactive status).
If not, you need to take your pre-license classes. There are several options for this class:
KANSAS ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS
SATURDAY-SUNDAY CLASSES OR HOME STUDY CLASS.
It costs approximately $195 and the Principles of Real Estate course is approved by the Kansas Real Estate Commission and fulfills the pre-license course requirement.
This 4 day course meets over two consecutive weekends and is structured to help you acquire the knowledge and skills you will need in order to pass the Kansas licensing examination.
The licensing examination costs an additional $75.00 and should be taken as soon as possible after you complete Principles of Real Estate.

Another option for taking the Home Study Course or the Pre-License class for 5 days on weekdays either during the day or evenings is through:

The licensing examination costs an additional $75.00 and should be taken as soon as possible after you complete Principles of Real Estate.
